Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Border East Consulting Corp. ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects personal information through Considera and this website, considera.ca. We are based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and operate in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for people in Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with stronger protections, the additional rights described in Section 8 also apply to you.
Considera is not open yet. Today this website collects personal information only through its contact form, and this policy describes that. We will update it before the Considera service opens.
1. Roles
For the contact form, we decide why and how your information is used, so we are responsible for it. When the Considera service opens, each church that uses it will be responsible for the records it keeps about its people, and we will process those records on its behalf.
2. Information we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect:
- Information you give us: your name, email address and message, and, if you choose, your church or organization and your province.
- Your choice about updates: whether you ticked the box to hear from us about Considera, and the version of the wording you agreed to.
- Technical information: the language of the page, the date and time, and the name and version of your browser.
We do not store your IP address. We use it in memory for a few minutes only, to limit repeated submissions.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- read and answer your message;
- if you ticked the box, email you about Considera, for example when it is ready;
- protect the form against spam and abuse;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under PIPEDA and Quebec law, we rely on your consent: you choose to send us the form, and you choose separately whether to hear from us about Considera. You can withdraw your consent at any time. For people in the EU or the UK, we rely on your consent and on our legitimate interests in answering messages and keeping this website secure.
5. Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed to run this website, with these providers:
- Hosting: OVHcloud, which runs our server and database in Beauharnois, Quebec, Canada.
- Email delivery: Brevo, a company based in France, which sends the contents of the form to our inbox.
- Spam protection, DNS and email routing: Cloudflare, a company based in the United States. Its Turnstile check receives technical information from your browser, and it forwards email sent to considera.ca addresses to our inbox.
Each provider receives only the information it needs to do its job and is bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of others. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, personal information may transfer to the successor, which will remain bound by this Policy or a substantially similar one.
6. International transfers
Our database is in Canada. Brevo processes the contents of the form in the European Union, and Cloudflare processes technical information and email in the United States and other countries, so your information may be subject to the laws of those places. Before we use a provider outside Quebec, we assess whether your information will be adequately protected, and we rely on contractual safeguards where required.
7. Data retention
We keep contact form submissions for 24 months from the day you send them. After that, they are deleted automatically from our database. We delete the email copy from our inbox as local laws require. Our server logs do not contain your message and are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your personal information;
- withdraw your consent, for example to stop hearing from us about Considera;
- complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, or your local supervisory authority.
To use these rights, write to privacy@considera.ca. We will answer within 30 days, or as required by applicable law.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These include encryption in transit through HTTPS, a firewall that allows only web traffic and encrypted administrative connections, restricted administrative access, protection of the form against forgery and spam, and logs that do not record the contents of your message. No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Cookies and tracking
This website sets one cookie, which is needed to protect the contact form against forgery. When you use the form, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a check in your browser. We do not use analytics, advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
11. Children's privacy
This website is meant for adults who lead or serve in churches. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, tell the people who asked to hear from us.
13. Contact and person in charge
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for the protection of personal information at Border East Consulting Corp. Questions, requests or privacy concerns? Write to privacy@considera.ca, or by mail to Border East Consulting Corp., Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
